Education, not advice
Everything on ChartWise is general education. It does not take into account your situation, goals or finances, and it is not investment, tax or legal advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Company snapshots describe what a company reported; they are not an opinion on whether its shares are worth buying. Talk to a qualified, independent professional before making financial decisions.
The main risks
- Market risk: share prices can fall sharply and stay down for years, and a single company can fail completely.
- Concentration: owning a few stocks ties your money to a few businesses.
- Borrowing: buying on margin magnifies losses, and you can lose more than you put in.
- Costs and taxes: fees, spreads and taxes reduce what you keep.
- Platform risk: a broker can fail or suffer outages. Investor protection schemes have limits and do not cover market losses.
- Behaviour: fear, overconfidence and the urge to win back losses lead to decisions that make results worse.
Past results
Historical prices, past company results and worked examples show what happened under particular conditions. They do not predict what will happen next.
